Explanation towards required choices to complete the JT50 system
Choose at which voltage you want to run the Jet Thruster pump unit.
Most boats have a 12V circuit. This doesn't mean you must have a 12V Jet Thruster motor.
With a 24, or 48v dedicated battery pack, it's possible to have a battery bank in a higher voltage and have it charged by your 12, or 24v alternator. We have created an Informative Website page towards this subject in which we fully explain how to create a different circuit

A: 24V Pump Motor (Standard) 1-2 minutes continuous run-time
Note 1: In case of a 12V circuit: Order a Master Volt Mac Plus step up charger (Not required in case of a 24V circuit)
Note 2: Order 2x Optima Yellow Top batteries to create a dedicated 24V battery bank
B: 48V Pump Motor (Popular choice for charter boats) 3-4 minutes continuous run-time and 10% more thrust power.
Note 1: In case of a 12V or 24V circuit: Order a Mastervolt Mac Plus step up charger
Note 2: Order 4x Optima Yellow Top batteries to create a dedicated 48V battery bank
Pump head position:
The Jet Thruster pump head can rotate. This enables you to select the orientation which is best for your installation. The pump head position can be ordered in position you would like it to be in. If later on you prefer to change, this is no problem. All Jet Thruster pump heads can be changed. Read our manual how to change the postion.

Nozzles:

Nozzles are a crucial part in any Jet Thruster installation:
The water flow is directed to nozzles which are located Forward and Aft in the boat, just below the water line. Because each hull is different, and interiors may vary, we have created a series of nozzles with different flange angles in order to have the optimum nozzle for your boat. Batteries:
Optima batteries are the best choice for powering Jet Thruster systems. These batteries are Small, powerful and have excellent deep cycle capabilities. We recommend Optima only for Jet Thruster systems

For boats with a 24V power circuit, options include Mac Plus 24/24 or Mac Plus 24/48.
S: Composite 2" Ball Valves instead of standard Stainless steel 2" ball valves
The use of Composite products is rapidly increasing in the marine industry. The reason is obvious: Composites work very well in Salt water environments, and valves will not deteriorate as result of the corrosive nature of sea water. In case your boat is on salt water, we recommend composite valves over Stainless steel valves. We endorse the use of Composites based upon the unique and reliable characteristics and the positive feedback from the market.
T: Zinc Anode for Pump Outlet (WS-CP-001-00 + WS-P-156-00)
There are Stainless steel parts in and to the pump which benefit from a cathodic protection by use of Zinc in case of use in salt water. In order to protect the pump shaft, stainless steel impeller, pump outlet and pump inlet, we have developed an Anode kit to protect these parts.
- WS-P-156-00: The 2" threaded side will screw into the 2" threaded pump outlet
- WS-CP-001-00: The Zinc Anode kit includes a composite holder in which a zinc anode is present. With the provided cable set, all necessary parts are connected with the zinc.
U: Wet Wipes
All threaded parts are connected with a Poly-Urethane sealant. Parts straight BSP threads (no NPT) and after all threads have been de-greased and thorougly cleaned, all theads are covered with a rich amount of the adhesive. Both Male and Female threads must be fully covered. Inevetably, the sticky and very difficult to remove Poly-urethane sealant will get on your hands, tools and parts. Directly after you connected the parts, these wipes will allow you to wipe off the sealant from any surface. Try with paper or cloth and you'll end up with a big mess. Use the wipe and you'll deliver a spotless and professional installation. Highly recommended to have this bucket with 150 little towels around.
V: PU-Sealant
The only good way to connect install the BSP threaded parts, and nozzle and water inlet flanges is with use of a Poly-Urethane sealant. We recommend the Wurth Marine sealant.
W: Hose (Minus length)
The installation kit provides 15M/50ft of Marine water hose in the right quality. Possible the standard length is too long, or not long enough. We offer the possibility to decrease hose length in the installation kit.
- Tick the W box change from standard 15m/50ft into 10m/33ft. In this case we will ship a total of 10m/33ft
W1 : Hose (Minus length)
- Tick the W1 box in case you do not want to buy hose
Z: Hose (Plus length)
The installation kit provides 15M/50ft of Marine water hose in the right quality. In case 15M/50ft in not long enough you can order additional hose in the Installation kit
- Tick the Z box and reduce the hose length from a standard 15m/50ft into 20m/16ft. In this case we will ship a total of 20M/65ft
